My sincerest thanks to all of you who have previously written reviews. If not for you, it may not have been such an easy decision for me to select Midwest Pond Features to clean my pond. They were fabulous. Sulaiman was a great communicator and extremely responsive. He and his team of 3 guys arrived on time, truly cared, and did an outstanding job. There are two pumps in my skimmer box, one for the waterfall and the second to prevent the pond from freezing by creating motion. The second pump had not generated any water movement for years despite my working with other firms. I mentioned it to Sulaiman, without any hesitancy, they blew out the lines. What a difference this pump has made in the water movement and enjoyment of our pond. A suggestion, don't spend any additional time looking for a firm to care for your pond. If you have read this review, then you have found them!!!

Completely unreliable; would not recommend. The owner had me waste 2 full days waiting for him to stop by to review a new pond design and provide a proposal. The first day, he changed the expected arrival time twice, only to cancel at the end of the day and asked if he could push it to the following day, which I reluctantly accepted. The following day (yesterday), he never showed up, nor had the courtesy to call/text. At the end of the second day, I needed to leave, so I texted him to simply let him know I was leaving, thinking he would apologize and attempt to reschedule again. I have since received no response. Thanks for wasting 2 days of my valuable time waiting for you.

Waste of time. Guy agreed to come by for an initial “consultation” and estimate. We set a time, then close to said scheduled time he had excuse for running late but that he was on his way. Over two hours later, another excuse, and instead of giving us the option to have him come by later, he said “by the time [he] got here, it’d be almost 8/9.” We agreed to have him come the next day, and again, excuse after excuse, we eventually stopped hearing from him. We had hoped he’d show up at some point, but after two wasted days of staying home waiting for him to show up, we gave up. Texted him in the evening that we had had to leave and never did hear back from him. Would’ve earned a higher rating if he had at least shown up and told us he couldn’t work with our pond needs.

How Do They Work?

A hole is dug in the ground to house the underground reservoir to create a pondless stream. This reservoir is usually made of plastic or rubber and is lined with a waterproof membrane to prevent leaks. The pump is placed in the bottom of the reservoir, and a series of pipes and hoses connect the pump to the water feature.

The water then circulates through the system, flowing over rocks and other materials to create the desired water flow. The water falls back into the underground reservoir, which is recirculated through the system. This allows for the continuous flow of water without the need for a large pond or pool.
